Looks like another update by Google
August 30, 2007 – 10:56 amA few days ago, I was searching for “diet pills” in Google and I noticed some websites had dropped off from the top 10 rankings. Occasionally, I like to keep my eyes on a few websites for this particular keyword. Surprisingly, a website that has been dominating the #1 spot “weight-loss-institute.com” is still #1. Despite this fact, Google discounted some of their backlinks. As of this writing, Google shows that they only have 17 backlinks.
Furthermore, Google is still giving “weight-loss-institute.com” credit for four webpages which is linking to “weight-loss-institute.com/diet_pills.htm”. The fact that these four webpages is part of their backlinks reinforces the fact that it’s important to self-link to your own internal webpages. Check your internal linking structure to make sure you’re taking advantage of this fact.
