Everyday, SEO experts are faced with the challenge of link building. Although the basic process of link building is not complicated, webmasters or SEO experts make it complicated. Link building can be simplified by borrowing from the law of equivalent exchange.

As many of you already know, you have three possible options to increase your link popularity.

1. reciprocal link exchange: Site A links to Site B; Site B links to Site A
2. three way link exchanges: Site A links to Site B and Site C links to Site A (in this method, it’s favorable to have all three sites on different Class C IP addresses.)
3. one way links: Site A links to Site B and no link is returned to Site B

To date, Google has discounted reciprocal link exchange to a point where it’s almost futile to try this method. To put it another way, it’s like buying a dozen bananas for $1.00 (USD) and you’re trying to make 100% orange juice. You still buying fruits, but it’s not what you really want.

Don’t do any reciprocal link exchanges unless you’re sure that you’re getting targeted traffic from your link partner. Most importantly, always try to negotiate a reciprocal link exchanges between two homepages and other high traffic webpages.

Currently, the most popular method among experienced SEO experts is one way links. This method is particularly popular if you’re trying to rank for Google.

I don’t know who Alvin Phang, but I’m glad he created http://www.socialmatic.com/. This online service is very similar to http://www.onlywire.com

Both websites allow you to submit your bookmarks to multiple social bookmarking websites. As of this writing, SocialMatic allows you to submit up to 14 social bookmarking websites.

One awesome feature about SocialMatic was it’s ability to appear friendly to the search engines and the social bookmarking websites itself. Unlike OnlyWire, SocialMatic randomly submits your bookmark to 5 websites automatically. Within your account, you can check the status of your submission easily.

I submitted a webpage and I’m still waiting for it to give me a status. I’ll let you know here when it’s completed.

As an SEO, I was really impressed by his initiative to create a script that prevents users from abusing his service. I’m looking forward to the addition of more social bookmarking websites.

http://www.linkrr.com/ – Linkrr is a small tool that changes your non clickable multiple links to clickables. If you’re like me, you will probably get a list of URLS in a TXT format from one of your associates. The list is useless unless it’s clickable. With Linkrr, you simply copy and paste all of your URLS into their text field and convert. That’s it!

Now all of your non-clickable links are clickable. Check it out.

OnlyWire by NB Technologies Inc. offers a user with multiple social sites accounts to consolidate and post to all of them simultaneously. The last time I’d checked, there were over 20 social networking sites that could submit your blog posting to.

It’s a simple and beautiful system because you can give OnlyWire all of your logins information and it will automatically submit to all 20+ social sites for you. It’s a great time saver if you do SMO as part of your SEO package.
